Mad Men is one of Netflix Australia's most watched shows and will be leaving at the end April.
Mad Men, an American period drama, is created by Matthew Weiner. It stars Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss as well as January Jones and Christina Hendricks. It was immensely popular between 2007-2015 and it helped to propel the actors' careers into greater stardom.
Don Draper is a senior partner in Sterling Cooper's advertising agency. He drinks hard, smokes chain cigarettes, and loves womenizing.
All 7 Mad Men seasons are currently scheduled to be removed from Netflix Australia by April 30, 2020.
It all depends on Netflix renewing the license. Even if the series does leave, it’s likely that Netflix Australia could see it return after a year or two.
There’s every chance that Mad Men could be renewed prior to its leave date, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Netflix offers Mad Men streaming in 32 other countries than Australia.
In September 2019, it was announced that the licensing agreement for the series would be renewed sometime around July 2020.
Lionsgate who own the franchise rights will look to find a new licencee. With the additions of HBO Max and Peacock to its lineup, Netflix now has more options to choose from if they wish to renew.
