All Celebrity Appearances on Netflix’s ‘The Chef Show’

The great thing about The Chef Show's is Roy Choi and Jon Favreau's passion for food. The series is made even more enjoyable by the guest stars who share their passions for it. We’ve put together all the celebrity guests and friends that have featured throughout The Chef Show so far.

Here is a list of celebrity guests who have appeared on The Chef Show Volumes 1 and 2:

Gwyneth Paltrow

Volume: 1 Episode: 1

Goop founder and actress Gwyneth Paltrow helped Jon and Roy cook up a “Pepper Pot” in the first episode of The Chef Show. The dish was a homage to Paltrow’s character, Pepper Potts, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite the delicious dish, Paltrow’s appearance in the series is mostly remembered for the actress not realizing she was in Spiderman: Homecoming, mistaking her cameo for the Avengers instead.

Bill Burr

Volume: 1 Episode: 1

Bill Burr, who took time from his acting career to help Roy and Jon make beautiful Cubanos. The popular Cuban sandwich was the featured dish in Jon Favreau’s film Chef.

Tom Holland

Volume: 1 Episode: 2

Another MCU alumni, actor Tom Holland didn’t take part in the cooking and instead helped Jon and friends chow down on a delicious seafood feast. Holland even attempted an oyster for his first time. Tom Holland explains his first day on camera. He met Robert Downey Jr. and demonstrates his ability to perform acrobatic moves in the Spiderman costume.

Robert Downey Jr.

Volume: 1 Episode: 2

Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man was there enjoying many different seafood dishes. As the first hero of the MCU, Robert discussed the surprise of Iron Man’s success and how the film wasn’t just limited to children and comic book fans, thus, hitting a zeitgeist that would spawn the most successful movie franchise of all time.

The Russo Brothers

Volume: 1 Episode: 2

Joe Russo

If it weren’t for directors Anthony and Joe Russo, the MCU as we know it could have been entirely different. The brothers, like Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland, were there for delicious dishes.

Kevin Feige

Volume: 1 Episode: 2

Kevin Feige is arguably the most important figurehead in Hollywood, since he was appointed president of Marvel Studios. With a combined box office of over $26.8 billion, Fiege’s success as the studio’s president has changed the very landscape of cinema. Fiege, like his Marvel colleagues above enjoyed the amazing looking food from The Optimist.

Andrew Rea

Volume: 1 | 2 Episode: 3 | 6

Andrew Rea, a YouTuber and Internet personality is the founder of Binging With Babish. Andrew Rea hosts the channel and recreates famous recipes from tv and movies. The channel has over 5,000,000 subscribers at the time this article was written. Andrew helped Jon and Roy bake Chocolate Lava Cake. This beautiful dessert was also featured on the movie Chef. Andrew would have used the exact same camera style to film the baking process on his YouTube channel.

Evan Kleiman

Volume: 1 Episode: 4

Evan Kleiman, a well-known American chef and author who also owns a restaurant. He is most famously known as the host of Good Food Radio since 1997. The fourth episode was dedicated to Jonathan Gold (los Angeles food critic), who passed away in 2018. Jazz Singsanong, Kleiman's fellow chef, and Jazz Singsanong created delicious Thai recipes that the chefs loved. These dishes were Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao.

Robert Rodriguez

Volume: 1 Episode: 5

Robert Rodriguez was a surprising guest on The Chef Show for some. Fans of the acclaimed director would know that on the special features of his movies, Rodriguez would present a ten minute short called “10 Minute Cooking School” and would recreate a dish from his film. Rodriguez even once made pizza for President Barack Obama.

David Chang

Volume: 1 | 2 Episode: 6 | 6

David Chang, author, chef, and television personality, has been featured in The Chef Show twice. Both times, he created some stunning dishes. This episode featured dishes inspired by traditional Korean cuisines that Roy and David enjoyed growing up. Particularly mouthwatering was the braised Kalbi stew.

Aaron Franklin

Volume: 1 Episode: 7 & 8

The film featured Aaron Franklin's Franklin Barbecue restaurant. Roy and Jon returned to the restaurant in order to witness the care that goes into creating some of America's best barbecued foods. The pair spent two episodes with the Pitmasters host, getting their hands dirty and helping Aaron prepare his famous short ribs for the “anti-food-fest food festival.”

Seth Rogen

Volume: 2 Episode: 1

Seth Rogan was a comedian who starred in Take This Waltz. He played the role of chicken chef. Rogen had to learn how to cook chickens and cut them for his training. He was a skilled cook and helped Roy prepare delicious chicken meals. Notably a dish from Roy’s childhood

Dave Filoni

Volume: 2 Episode: 5

Dave Filoni, the genius behind Star Wars: Rebels & Star Wars: Resistance is working behind the scenes at Disney. Dave Filoni was at Skywalker Ranch with Roy and Jon to prepare some meals using the produce from the land.
