Die Hard is a huge movie franchise starring Bruce Willis and around November and December of each year, the films popularity spikes which is why we’re asking today, are the Die Hard movies on Netflix?

There are still many debates about whether Die Hard should be considered a Christmas franchise. However, this article is always updated around the holidays so that it appears pretty definitive.

Five badass films have been released, with the others being:

  • Die Hard (1998)
  • Die Hard 2 (1990)
  • 1995: Die Hard With a Vengeance
  • Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
  • A Good Day to Die Hard (2013)

What makes Die Hard films available on Netflix USA?

We’ll begin with why Die Hard isn’t streaming on Netflix domestically.

Sadly, Netflix doesn’t get the rights to 20th Century Fox films anymore. This includes older films as well as newer ones. Fox pulled out of Netflix completely a couple of years ago and we haven’t seen TV or series come from the provider since.

There are some streaming options but there’s no way of streaming all of the Die Hard movies without some VoD intervention. Crackle has the first Die Hard, but it is ad-supported. Starz has the 2017 Live Free or Die Hard available for this holiday season.

Netflix: Where to see Die Hard

In 2019, for the first time, you can catch the first Die Hard on Netflix across the world but there’s a big caveat. As one of the episodes featured in ‘The Movies That Made Us’ they go in-depth with two major Christmas movie franchises. The episode also includes a look at Home Alone, which is unfortunately not available on Netflix for 2019.

You can also stream some of these movies on Netflix from other countries. For those living in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, Die Hard: with a Vengeance can be viewed on Netflix. A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) is now available on Netflix in certain Asian countries, including Hong Kong, South Korea and Thailand.
