The movies were based on the books of the same title and did an excellent job in bringing them to life. The first movie is particularly held in high regard out of the four installments that released between 2012 and 2015. Alongside Jennifer Lawrence starred Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci, Sandra Ellis Lafferty and many more. The movies pit different districts in an authoritarian world against each other in a set of an annual game which sees participants fight to the death.

Why aren’t the Hunger Games on Netflix in the USA?

They were at one time. Netflix has a tendency to sign large contracts with content owners. In 2015, one of the biggest contracts that Netflix lost was with The Hunger Games' owner. You may recall that Netflixers used to be able to see the latest movies drops a little before they were shown in cinemas. That contract Epix won’t be returning as Epix now boasts their own platform although the chances are you aren’t currently using it.

In the United States at the moment, there’s currently nowhere to stream the movies as part of a subscription. Hulu has some clips of the films, however.
