Are ‘The Purge’ Movies on Netflix?

With four films under their belts in less than five years, The Purge continues to gain steam and is infinitely popular. Is there any The Purge movie on Netflix, or are they coming to Netflix in the future? Let’s take a look.

James DeMonaco, the creator of The Purge is James DeMonaco. He’s written and produced all four of the movies with the fourth about to hit cinemas in July 2018. It's quite simple, and the movies revolve around one day a year in America where all things are legal.

The series received mixed reviews from critics, but it managed to attract millions of people to cinemas each episode. The three entries release so far include The Purge (2013), The Purge: Anarchy (2014) and The Purge: Election Year (2016). The Fourth Purge is a prequel to all three previous entries. It's also known as The First Purge.

Let’s start off by saying that yes, The Purge movies are on Netflix. Unfortunately, with Netflix, they’re restricted to certain regions. Netflix is not available for residents of the United States.

• The Purge (2013) can be viewed on Netflix UK only.
• Only Netflix France and the Netherlands can stream The Purge: Anarchy (2015).
• Netflix has The Purge: Election Year 2016 streaming in Australia, Poland and Israel.

Netflix to Get The First Purge?

It’s definitely likely that some Netflix regions will get the next Purge entry. Sadly, the United States won’t be involved. This is due to licensing agreements.

The only place you’ll be able to stream The Purge movies (albeit irregularly) is through HBO and its streaming services. It was the only streaming service that picked up Election Year last year.

The Purge movies are available on Netflix DVD

As with most movies, The Purge is made available on rental through Netflix’s separate DVD subscription.  In most cases, you’re also able to rent it as a Bluray too.
