‘Chicago Med’ Seasons 1-5 Leaving Netflix in July 2022

Chicago Med is one of very few procedural series on Netflix. It will leave the US service in July 2022, as the license expires.

Chicago Med was created by Dick Wolf (a renowned producer) and is part of the numerous shows that he has produced for NBC. It is also linked to Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D.

Season 6 of the show recently aired on NBC and the show’s future is currently secured through to season 8.

Chicago Med season 1-5 were originally licensed to Netflix US in July 2021, when we reported that Netflix had plans to license more seasons. Seasons 1-5 eventually came marking the show’s first time being on Netflix around the globe.

Netflix would receive Chicago Med in at least 14 additional regions in September 2021. However, Netflix only licensed seasons 1 and 4 in international regions.

After only one year, we have just received word from the July 2022 Removals List that Chicago Med season 1-5 will be leaving the service on July 22, 2022. Your last day to view the show is July 21, 2022. The show was only available on Netflix for a short time, and the deal has ended. That means, that as we predicted, season 6 of Chicago Med isn’t coming to Netflix.

Chicago Med was only licensed to Netflix temporarily. From NBC Universal’s point of view, they’ll be hoping you’re hooked enough to warrant to go and seek it out on its parent companies streamer. We'll be discussing this in a moment.

After leaving Netflix, where will Chicago Med be streamed?

Good news: Chicago Med is streaming live on its permanent site for some time now. We’re referring to Peacock which is streaming seasons 1-7 in both their ad-supported and premium tiers.

Hulu also is the recipient of the newer seasons but with NBC content pulling out of Hulu, that won’t be for much longer.

What time will Chicago Med be removed from Netflix international?

This removal date doesn’t apply to all regions as we stated above. The show is likely to expire in additional regions, unless Netflix cannot renew it in certain regions. For Netflix in the United Kingdom, we’re told its license is currently due to expire on September 1st, 2022. This date is likely to apply to all other Netflix regions.
