‘Cursed’ Season 1: Netflix Release Time & Everything You Need To Know

Netflix made it clear in its plans that it wants to make epic fantasy-dramas that are loved worldwide. Cursed is its next big fantasy series that’s coming to Netflix on July 17th, 2020 and we’ve got everything you need to know ahead of its Netflix release.

Netflix Original Series Cursed will debut in the near future. It is based upon the illustrated YA novel by Tom Wheeler. Frank Miller illustrated the illustrations. They will serve as both the series' writers and executive producers. The directing duties were split between Jon East (Killing Eve), Zetna Fentes (One Life to Live), and Daniel Netthiem ("The Hunter”).

What time will Cursed season 1 be on Netflix?

Finally, Cursed Season 1 has been confirmed to be available on Netflix July 17, 2020.

We’ve known for almost a month that the release date could be July 17th, after a fan account helped leak the release date.

The Spanish Cosmopolitan revealed the release date after we reached out to them for further details.

After online sources had suggested a spring 2020 release, we reported Cursed on Netflix.

Cursed: What's the story?

This series follows Nimue as a teenage rebellious heroine. Her destiny is to help Arthur, a young merchant to climb to Camelot's throne. Nimue is left devastated by the loss of her mother and seeks out Arthur's help in her mission to bring an ancient, powerful sword to Merlin The Wizard.

The comic book So Cursed inspired the story.

It’s an Illustrated YA Novel and not a comic book. Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler, author of Illustrated YA Novels, collaborated to create the book.

On October 1, 2019, the comic was published. Although the second cover was originally intended to represent the original cover, it has been replaced with an orange one on the left.

Cursed Season 1 Production History on Netflix

The filming was completed by September 2019, and has been continuing since March 2019.

Filming took place at multiple locations, such as Frensham Little Pond, Frensham in Frensham and Albury Park, Surrey. Bradford-on-Avon was also used. Clearwell Caves were in the Forest of Dean. All of these locations can be found in the United Kingdom.

The VFX department took over the project after the series had finished filming. Double Negative is behind the VFX for the series who is currently working on The Matrix 4 and Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi series, Away. They’ve also worked on Tenet, Jumanji, Men in Black, Avengers: Endgame and Godzilla.

Cursed will broadcast ten episodes in its first season. This has been confirmed. This is the average number of original episodes that Netflix orders.

How long does each episode last?

There’s no confirmation on the run times for episodes of Cursed. It’s a safe bet each episode will be roughly fifty to sixty minutes long.
