Early Seasons of ‘Heartland’ Removed from Netflix Internationally

The unexpected removal of several seasons from Heartland, a beloved show that was popular with Netflixers all over the globe began this year. The first six seasons of Heartland were removed from Netflix across many countries, including Australia and the United Kingdom.

According to Unogs, Seasons 1 through 6 of Heartland have been removed from these Netflix regions.

• Australia
• Latin America (Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia)
• Asia (India, Japan. Malaysia. Philippines. Singapore. South Korea).
• South Africa
• Turkey
• France
• Greece
• Israel

Netflix Canada and Netflix USA are notable unaffected from the loss of earlier seasons.

Netflix USA is streaming season 1-13 (season 14 will be available only to Up Faith and Family up until the early 2022), and Netflix CA streaming season 1-14.

The rights to Heartland's show are still available. There have been episodes missing from the US's early seasons. In 2019, seasons 1 through 3 were deleted from Netflix US, but they were eventually added weeks later.

Is Heartland Seasons 1 - 6 on Netflix?

The big question is: Will these seasons ever return? Can you still watch them elsewhere in the interim?

Unfortunately, we don’t know the answer to the first question and while we have reached out to Entertainment One, it’s highly unlikely they’ll disclose licensing details to the press.

All that being said, seasons 1 through 6 have been added to Up Faith and Family's channel. This channel launched worldwide as Prime in many regions. That’s where the early seasons are now streaming exclusively in the UK.

Prime Video is the only option for Australians to access early seasons.

In other regions mentioned above, we were unable to find alternative streaming homes for the show meaning you’ll have to seek out other methods of watching the show.

It will be very frustrating for viewers, as the show is often broken up between different streaming platforms. Netflix may be able to obtain shared licensing for the first seasons with any luck. However, it is not known how likely that this will occur.

This will likely prevent Heartland's 15th season from coming to Netflix.

Unknown is whether Netflix will block season 15 in all the above regions. Is this a sign of a total removal? That’s unclear. Given previous removals like this, we should still expect season 15 to hit Netflix later in 2022 but there’s certainly a question mark surrounding that now.
