Netflix spent $25 million to acquire the worldwide streaming rights for The Good Nurse. This was in 2021. The Good Nurse, starring Jessica Chastain & Eddie Redmayne will be available on Netflix in 2022. Here’s what you need to know.

Tobias Lindholm, a Danish director and writer who has been nominated by the BAFTA for his films Borgen, Mindhunter, and The Hunt, will direct the film with a script from Krysty Wilkins-Cairns. Krysty was nominated in 1917 for her screenplay.

Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa will be producing the movie along with FilmNation. Before it was released on the EFM open market, the movie had been set up with Lionsgate. Deadline was the first to report Netflix’s intention to move forward with buying the movie.

What date can we expect to see The Good Nurse on Netflix

The film has been in post-production from June 2021. It is no surprise that The Good Nurse will release on Netflix in 2022. We’re still waiting for Netflix to provide an official release date, and we expect it will be announced soon.

Who is Charles Cullen and what is The Good Nurse's plot?


Netflix’s The Good Nurse will tell the true story of the pursuit and capture of Charles Cullen, one of the most prolific serial killers in history who is suspected of murdering up to 400 patients during his 16-year career as a nurse, earning him the title “The Angel of Death”. Cullen, a father of three children and a caregiver to his family before being accused in the murders of up 300 people over 16 years at 9 New Jersey hospitals.

The movie will be adapted from Charles Graeber’s 2013 chronicle book of these events called The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder.

“Suspicious that her colleague is responsible for a series of mysterious patient deaths, a nurse risks her own life to uncover the truth in this gripping thriller based on true events.”

Which actors are in The Good Nurse's cast?

Netflix’s The Good Nurse will be led by Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne who is known for his roles in such movies as Fantastic Beasts, The Danish Girl, Les Miserables, and more. Redmayne also stars in the multi-Oscar nominee Netflix Original movie The Trial of the Chicago 7. Redmayne will portray Charlie Cullen. He was captured by former Newark homicide detectives and aided with a nurse.

Alongside Redmayne will be Oscar-nominee Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Molly’s Game, Interstellar) who will portray the nurse who worked alongside Cullen and risked her job and family’s safety to stop him and end the killing spree.

NnamdiAsomugha will be the third celebrity to receive the title in March 2021. Asomugha’s credits include When the Streetlights Go On, Crown Heights, and Sylvie’s Love. In April 2021, Noah Emmerich (The Americans Space Force) was announced as a guest on The Good Nurse. Kim Dickens, (Deadwood Fear the Walking Dead), was also confirmed to be appearing in The Good Nurse.

What’s the production status on The Good Nurse?

According to Production Weekly issue 1240, The Good Nurse was produced in Stamford (Connecticut), USA on April 21, 2021. The production was wrapped by June 24, 2021.

Redmayne, Chastain and their set were first photographed via ETCanada.
