Valentine’s Day is a few short weeks away and it’s unsurprising that Netflix is dipping its toes back into the dating scene. Netflix hopes to gain even greater popularity for Love Is Blind, a year after the premiere of Dating Around. Here's everything you need to know about Love Is Blind, the original reality dating series.
Kinetic Content is producing Love is Blind, a new Netflix Original reality dating show. Love Is Blind, the Original's third dating series, will debut upon its release. It's no surprise Netflix is continuing to expand its reach in reality TV, with networks like MTV, ABC, and Lifetime achieving huge success on reality dating shows.
Anyone who saw the reality series Blind Date and Married at First Sight knows how this series works.
Instead of hiding the three contestants behind screens, two singles with potential will be invited on dates. However, they will not see one another until they are engaged. After they are engaged, their blindfolds will be removed and they'll see for the first-time who their partner is. The cameras will then follow the couple as they try to match a physical relationship to the emotional bond they’ve formed all the way to mere days before they are due to be wed.
This concept is similar to Married at First Sight on Lifetime. A major difference between the two series is the fact that Love Is Blind doesn’t have the couple marry before meeting each other, giving the couples the option to back out of the series before tieing the knot.
Love Is Blind hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey. They have been married for over a decade and both have had tremendous success in their respective fields.
After being named Miss Teen USA 1998, Vanessa Lachey was able to find success young. Vanessa worked in many capacities throughout her career: she was a model, beauty queen and tv host, as well as an actress, comedian, and most recently, a TV host. She is most well-known for her work as a host on Entertainment Tonight, and Total Request Live (MTV).
Nick Lachey is better known for his work with 98 Degrees, a multi-platinum boy-band. Between 2002 and 2006, he was married to Jessica Simpson. He starred on the reality show Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica.
