‘Fate/Zero’ and ‘Kill La Kill’ Leaving Netflix in June 2022 (again)

Netflix will be removing several major anime series from the world in June 2022, including those of the USA. Both Fate/Zero and Kill La Kill are set to leave but as we’ve seen before with these titles and other anime series, removal dates are very much subject to change.

It’s a fact of life that Netflix doesn’t own everything it streams. Many of Netflix's content, including Netflix Original content, is licensed only for a set period. Two parties must make arrangements for streaming shows if their licenses are up for renewal. That’s now the case with three popular anime series.

Kill la Kill will be leaving Netflix!

Kill la Kill streaming in over half a dozen Netflix countries, including Netflix US. The show will end on all Netflix regions other than South Korea's on June 15. Netflix is showing the show's removal dates in all Latin American countries, including Canada and the United States.

Created by Hiroyuki Imaishi, this series follows Ryuko Matoi known as the woman with the scissor blade searching for clues around the world to get to the bottom her father’s death. This anime series is often ranked among the top anime series.

We’ve been down this road before, however. Kill la Kill was removed from Netflix's service in the past. In April 2019, Netflix confirmed that Kill la Kill had been removed. The series was removed in May 2019, but it was for only a month, before returning in June 2019.

After its licensing to Netflix, the show is now ending after three years. This removal can be permanent or temporary, however.

Good news: The series can be found elsewhere. You can watch the entire series on Hulu and HBO Max as well as Funimation and Crunchyroll.

Netflix to End Fate/Zero Seasons 1 & 2 in June 2022

Netflix will be leaving in a similar fashion to Kill La Kill is Fate/Zero, which will see 25 of the original episodes leave the service in June 2022, in America, Canada and Latin America. For now, it seems to be secure in countries such as Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

If you’ve never checked out Fate/Zero before, here’s what you can expect:

“After three unsettled battles for the mystical Holy Grail, an artifact that grants a miracle to those who hold it, a fourth war begins.”

Netflix will also be removing Madoka Magica, an anime that was originally released in 2022, from its streaming service. This 12-episode series focuses on Madoka Kaname's story about magical witch girls.

We'd love to know if you will miss these anime shows when they are gone from Netflix.
