Netflix will soon stop streaming The Frozen Dead, a French series of mystery-thrillers. Titles come and go from Netflix all the time but the big deal with this title is that it’s labeled as a Netflix Original title. Here’s when and why The Frozen Dead is leaving Netflix and why you should give it a watch before it departs.
Known as Glacé in France, the series aired on M6 (also known as 6play) in January 2017. It was based on Bernard Minier's novel and ran 6 episodes. The Frozen Dead is produced by Gaumont Télévision and Metropole Television.
Have you ever checked it out since its addition? Here’s what you can expect:
“A grisly find atop a mountain in the French Pyrenees leads investigator Martin Servaz into a twisted dance with a serial killer in this icy thriller.”
Do you recommend the series? Although there are not many reviews, the series has a 6.3/10 rating on IMDb. It also won the La Rochelle TV Award for best television series.
The original Netflix Original was released on Netflix worldwide on January 1, 2018. In November 2017, it was announced for the first time that it would be available on Netflix.
The series will be ending Netflix worldwide on October 13, 2021, three years after its original release.
If you’re thinking it’s weird that a Netflix Original series is leaving then it’s not. Netflix Originals leaving Netflix are becoming more common, especially since Netflix bought the rights to air in their host country. We’re cataloging every Netflix Original to have departed Netflix here.
Blockbuster was another French movie that left Netflix. The Netflix global romantic comedy also left Netflix in January 2021.
Netflix offers a variety of audio options, including original French and English dubs, as well as Spanish, English, German, Spanish, and Italian audio. There are also multiple subtitle options.
The next place the series will land is unknown. That’s unclear but it’s highly likey the series will go off into the void and not be widely available. If you wish to keep watching, the best choice is to look for VOD options.
