After a successful debut of season 1, Netflix has announced Grace and Frankie will be back next year. Netflix rarely posts viewing figures for its shows on Netflix but given it’s now been granted a second seasonable they were obviously deemed favourable by the executives. The first season was mixed with Decider.com being less than enthusiastic and the metacritic at 58.
At What’s on Netflix we’re optimistic that it can evolve into the comedy which Netflix is in need of but right here right now, it’s not floating our boat.
Yesterday's panel saw the show's co-creator thank the Netflix team and one celebrity popstar. “Let me say, it’s so awesome to do a show on Netflix,” she said, “because two and a half weeks after we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call and say, ‘We’d like to do a season two.’ So yes, there is a season two. We have Ted and Miley to thank.”
We don't have any more information, but it is likely that the cast of season 2 will remain relatively unchanged. The launch window for season 2 is set for April 2016.
