A Christmas Carol, a classic tale by Charles Dickens, has been told many times over the years in various formats. We’re going to cover which ones are streaming on Netflix whether it be the Muppets Christmas Carol, the 2009 animated Christmas Carol starring Jim Carrey or even some of the older live action versions too.
Each movie is unique, but the overarching story of Ebenezer Scrooge's visit by the ghosts Christmas is that he learns the wrong way and is ultimately put back on track.
The 1992 Muppets remake is one of the most well-known. It features all your favourite Muppet characters. It’s done as a musical where Kermit asks for a day off for Christmas and his boss played by Michael Kaine says no. He’s then visited by the two old men and a cast of other Muppets to teach him the error of his ways.
Only Netflix is available in British Overseas Territories and South America.

Disney made the most recent remake in 2009. In 2009, they retold the story using an animated Jim Carrey as the director. The film was widely acclaimed. It’s visually stunning and probably the definitive version to watch if you have the chance to.
Again, if you’re in the US, UK or Canada, you’ll be unable to watch this movie on Netflix. The 2009 remake is available to stream for those living in British Overseas Territories and South America.
