In anticipation for the imminent release of the new ‘Blade Runner 2049’ in theatres, we have decided to take a look if the original classic 1982 film is available to stream on Netflix.
This new movie will be released on October 5th. Ryan Gosling stars as Rick Deckard, the former LAPD Blade Runner who goes missing for over 30 years. Harrison Ford plays the role of Rick Deckard. Many people have a lot of hype behind this sequel and hope it lives up to the original.
This film has been hailed as a masterpiece and shows a dystopian, cyberpunk future that is unlike anything else. Harrison Ford starred as Rick Deckard, a LAPD “Blade Runner” who is tasked with hunting and terminating four escaped Replicants (Advanced androids that look very much like humans). As Deckard closes in on the leader of the Replicants, he begins to question his hatred and humanity. Do you believe the film from 1982 will win 2 Oscars?
Unfortunately, we’ve had a good look round and can’t find the original streaming anywhere on Netflix right now. The film left Netflix back in May of last year due to Sony acquiring the rights to ‘Blade Runner’. Netflix currently has no ability to display Sony Animated Films. The original may be made available by Netflix in the future, but there is no guarantee.
We will keep you updated if there any chances in Sony’s deal with Netflix, and either the 1982 film or the 2017 sequel come to Netflix in the future.
If you are desperate to brush up on Rick Deckard’s first adventure then you are able to Stream the title on NowTV and SkyGo. If you don’t have access to these streaming sites you can even rent the film on Google Play, and Amazon Video.
Are you going to the second installment with Ryan Gosling or not? What did you think of the first? Let us know in the comments.
