Our posts on streaming Harry Potter movies and Pixar films are very popular. However, my personal favorite movie franchise is The Matrix trilogy. The mind bending movies really demonstrated the Wochowski’s ability to create great movies and while they’ve never been able to capture the world like they did with the Matrix, they still make incredible movies and TV shows now too.
For this post we’re going to be looking into where you can stream each of the three Matrix movies and as an added bonus, where you can stream the Animatrix movie too.
1999 was a great year in movies, and The Matrix is an excellent example of that. Neo, or Mr. Anderson learned about the Matrix and began his quest to escape their reality. The best of the trilogy without a doubt, you’ll want to watch the first movie a few times to learn what’s going on.
The Matrix (1998) is available on Netflix Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Let’s be honest, the sequels never really hit the same heights as the original but for fans of the franchise seeing the second and third movies were an absolute must. Neo is now able to continue his journey towards becoming the chosen one, thanks to his newly discovered powers.
Netflix has The Matrix Reloaded 2003 streaming in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Revolutions, released just months after the first movie, brought to an abrupt halt the Trilogy's second installment. As I mentioned before, the quality had suffered on the second and third movies which sucked but they’re still a good watch, particularly if you enjoyed the first one.
The Matrix Revolutions (2003) is streaming on Netflix in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and most EU countries (excluding Ireland and the United Kingdom)
We found out that The Animatrix can also be streamed on Netflix. It is an anime-style movie that features a series of films, each one linking to the other. This prequel focuses on man's battle with machines that led to The Matrix.
Only Netflix USA has The Animatrix (2003) streaming.
