Is the ‘Train to Busan’ Sequel ‘Peninsula’ Coming to Netflix?

Train to Busan’s highly anticipated sequel, Peninsula recently debuted in theatres across the world. Subscribers will be wondering if Peninsula will make it to Netflix. It is likely that Peninsula will join Netflix by 2021, as evidence suggests.

Yeon Sangho directed Peninsula, a South Korean horror film. Peninsula, written by Park Joosuk and Yeon Sangho is the sequel of the popular zombie film Train to Busan.

While Peninsula film hasn’t received the same critical praise as Train to Busan, the feature has still become popular in its own right. It is one of Netflix's most requested movies.

Jung Seok and Chul-min, his brother in law, are being hired by the South Korean government to go back to Incheon four years after they survived the South Korean viral epidemic. They are on a mission to find a $20 million cash-strapped food truck. The desolate landscape populated by flesh-eating zombies, and any survivors who remain stands in the way of their success.

Are Netflix US and Peninsula coming to Peninsula?

While Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed Peninsula is coming, there’s a heavy amount of evidence that it will be arriving in the near future.

Netflix and Well Go USA signed an exclusive streaming agreement in 2011. It’s unclear how long this contract has been in place, but it has likely been renewed since 2011.

We’ve seen many films from Well Go USA available to stream on Netflix such as the Ip Man franchise, Freaks, and the prequel to Peninsula, Train to Busan.

If the streaming agreement is not terminated, Peninsula could be available on Netflix by 2021. According to previous Well Go USA releases, Peninsula may be streamable on Netflix in February 2021.

Is Peninsula coming to Netflix in other areas?

This is possible due to Peninsula's worldwide distribution and Not Well Go USA.

Netflix US: Is Train To Busan ending?

Since March 18, 2017, Train to Busan is available for streaming in America. Assuming the feature is licensed for four to five years it won’t be leaving Netflix US until February/March of either 2021 or 2022.
