‘Jaguar’ Season 2: Will Netflix Renew The Spanish Series?

Review Ethan / 2022-09-19 05:05:07

Jaguar, a new Spanish series that you might not have seen yet comes from the same writer team as High Seas or Gran Hotel. The series has made a rather lukewarm impression on Netflix thus far meaning that predicting whether there’ll be a Jaguar season 2 difficult especially when it was reportedly developed as a stand-alone limited series. Here’s what we know so far.

As a Netflix Original, the series was available on Netflix starting September 22, 2021. The series aired 8 episodes and featured Isabel Garrido (a Holocaust survivor) who was on the search for the Nazis most dangerous.

Jaguar is coming to Netflix via the same team that produced High Seas and Cable Girls, both of which were on Netflix for several seasons. However, both shows were apparently cut short. Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira are behind Jaguar.

Has Netflix renewed Jaguar for season 2?

No renewal has come just yet and we won’t expect anything official until around a month after release. Sometimes, international programs are renewed with no release to news media such as ours.

What factors go into whether Jaguar gets a second season?

There are many factors that influence how many viewers choose to play the series. They also affect how fast they get to the finish (or how high the completion rate).

Season 2 of the series ends with an open end with many questions unanswered. Anyone who watched it will be familiar with this. Spoiler Alert: The series ends with Aribert Heim being captured by the team, but Otto still freely tortures Lucena.

One Spanish source states that Bambú Producciones (the production company behind Jaguar) is known for managing budgets well making the shows affordable to the likes of Netflix.

What is the performance of the series in Netflix's top 10s?

Here is when we begin to worry about the possibility of another season. The series has performed well in Spain since its debut (it’s peaked and stayed at number three for much of the week following its release) but already looks like it’s failing to make a mark elsewhere.

We typically find that series that get renewals have to be in the top 10s for around 28 days while also passing other tickboxes on Netflix’s internal lists.

For the moment, that’s all we have on season 2 of Jaguar, we’ll keep you posted over time as and when we learn of official developments.
