The Canadian musical-drama series Lost & Found Music Studios, which is a Netflix Original, will be leaving Netflix USA and other countries in December 2021.

The Canadian series was produced by Temple Street Productions & Beachwood Canyon Productions. It aired first on Family Channel, then became a Netflix Original in the US.

There were 27 episodes released, with the entire series available for viewing on Netflix over the last 5 years. Among the cast included Jeni Ross who has since gone on to appear in No Escape Room and Keara Graves who appeared in Netflix’s Grand Army (sadly canceled). Trevor Tordjman and Tony Nappo were also part of the cast. Elizabeth Whitmere and A.C. Peterson were also included.

The series has been streaming on Netflix in all regions since 2016 and is up for renewal. However, Netflix appears to not be allowing the stream of the show moving forward despite it being branded as Netflix Original.

The removal dates of both seasons for Lost & Found Music Studios show as December 3, 2021. This means that December 2nd is the last day you can catch Lost & Found Music Studios on Netflix. It is important to note that Netflix removal notices do not appear in Canada and the United Kingdom.

What is the reason Lost & Found Music Studios has left Netflix?

Why is Netflix removing a Netflix Original? We’ve discussed this at length before as it represents a bit of a problem with Netflix’s library in future years. There are many types of Netflix Original, and this is the only one that falls under international licensing. That means although Netflix carries the show exclusively, it doesn’t do so indefinitely.

In terms of a good replacement show, you probably can already guess what we’re going to suggest. Julie and the Phantoms is incredibly similar given it’s also a musical series. We’d also suggest giving Go Live Your Own Way a spin if you haven’t already too.

Do you think Lost & Found Music Studios will be missed when Netflix stops streaming it? We'd love to hear from you in the comments.
