Marmaduke, the animated film featuring J.K. Simmons and Shelby Young, will be available on Netflix in selected regions, including the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada in May 2022.
Andrews McMeel Entertainment & Legacy Classics produced the feature film, which runs to 88 minutes. It features the dog competing and training for the Westminster Championship.
Here’s the official synopsis of the upcoming movie:
“Marmaduke epitomises the overgrown lapdog, with an irascible streak and a penchant for mischief tempered bye a deep sense of love and responsibility for his family. This time, he gets involved with the world of elite dog shows, dramatic divas, and hilarious rivalries.”
Based on a newspaper comic strip from 1954, the movie now features a Marmaduke family with their Great Dane. Brad Anderson created it and it continues to be used today.
Twentieth Century Fox released a 2010 comedy adaptation of this comic strip. The film was live-action and featured Owen Wilson, Emma Stone, George Lopez, and others.
The original release date for the animated feature film was 2020, but it was delayed due to the worldwide pandemic. Marmaduke will now be available on Netflix as a Netflix Original in several countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, on May 6, 2022. It is expected that the movie will also be released theatrically in certain regions.
Mark A.Z. is Marmaduke's director. Dippé, Matt Philip Whelan, and Youngki Lee.
