In October 2019, another huge series is set to be removed from Netflix US. Midsomer Murders, which is streaming on Netflix US since 2014, will be ending on October 1, 2019.
Midsomer Murders, a British daytime television staple, has been on the air since 1997. Netflix, however, introduced it to millions of viewers five years earlier.
This series features a detective and sergeant who solve crimes in Midsomer, England. Netflix currently has 116 episodes from 19 seasons.
New seasons of the show have come to Netflix yearly up until 2017 when Netflix picked up season 19 but has failed to get season 20 which aired in March and now it looks like season 21 in production won’t be available either.
Another crime drama, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries that follows a similar beat to Midsomer Murders is also currently due to leave Netflix although that departs slightly earlier.
All 19 episodes of Midsomer Murders were published at the time this article was written. They will be leaving Netflix on October 1, 2018.
There are many options for watching Midsomer Murders.
Two paid options, AcornTV or BritBox, offer 20 seasons. These two channels seem to be the best home for British programs from ITV and BBC. As the streaming war heats, we do know that many British shows are moving to Netflix.
There’s a couple of other options here too. The show is available on IMDb TV as well as The Roku Channel, although they currently only have 19 seasons.
Another blow to the Netflix library but ultimately is a niche third-party license for Netflix which it’ll now use the money to license said show on original productions.
Do you think Midsomer Murders will be missed if it is removed from Netflix's service on October 1st, 2017? Leave your comments.
