Netflix Original Mowgli, The Legend of the Jungle will be released on the 7th of Dezember. While there are many films to release over the holidays season, we’re really excited to watch Andy Serkis’ take on the classic story. Here’s What’s On Netflix’s preview for Mowgli: The Legend of the Jungle.
Mowgli: The Legend of the Jungle is based on Rudyard Kipling’s novel The Jungle Book. The film is not animated in cartoon style. Instead, it uses live action as well as CGI Motion Capture. This film is directed by Andy Serkis (the legendary motion capture actor), and it looks amazing.
Although it may sound silly, you should be able to ask what the Jungle Book movies' plot is. But as Rudyard Kipling’s novel has been adapted in so many different ways it’s good to get a clear idea as to whether or not it follows the original novel or goes on its own narrative.
Like many adaptations of the tale, it follows Mowgli the orphan who is adopted by the Wolfpack. He is introduced to the Jungle lifestyle by Baloo, the Bear and the Black Panther Bagheera as he gets older. Mowgli is welcomed into the Jungle as an animal member, except the Shere Khan the terrifying tiger and Tabaqui the Hyena. Mowgli will need to confront his human roots and find shelter among the humans as the Jungle's dangers threaten Mowgli's life.

The production company responsible for this movie was Warner Brothers. The film had been in production since 2012. Many directors and producers were involved with its development. It was announced in early 2014 that Andy Serkis would direct the production and star as Baloo, the Bear.
Many cast members were announced during the summer of 2014. Over the months more casting was announced. It wasn’t until March 2015 that principal photography would begin. Post-production took a lot of time, which caused delays in ensuring the highest quality visual effects. The continued work on in post-production delayed the original October 2016 release date.
The working title of the movie was changed many times throughout its development. Finally, they chose Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. The film would have been more successful if it had not been delayed, since Disney only released the live version in 2016. While the film was originally scheduled for release October 2016, it was delayed by Netflix's purchase of worldwide distribution rights. The release date was then changed again in July.
The trailer was just released last week at the time this article was written. We can't wait to see it!
