NBC’s ‘Parenthood’ Leaving Netflix in September 2019

NBC’s hit show, Parenthood will be soon departing from Netflix likely headed for its new home in 2020. Here’s what we know about the removal, why it’s happening, where it’s heading and some similar titles you can watch on Netflix.

This family comedy-drama takes us to the home of the Braveman’s and explores the various generations within. It ran from 2010 to 2015, with new episodes added each year. Since 2011, the series is available on Netflix.

Many compare Parenthood to NBC’s current hit, This Is Us which is sadly not streaming on Netflix.

On September 24, 2019, Netflix will be removing all six seasons, which span 103 episodes. This series joins many other highly-regarded shows such as Californication, Portlandia and others that will be leaving Netflix in September 2019.

Which stream will next be Parenthood?

We believe Parenthood will stream on Hulu for one season, but the entire series will air on Comcast's streaming service.

Once we get confirmation of this, we’ll update this post.

Sadly, we’re expecting more NBC shows to follow in the direction of Parenthood. Most notable is The Office, which will be leaving January 2021. Parks and Recreation are safe at the moment.

The show is only available on Netflix USA, and there are no plans to bring it to other countries.

Netflix Titles similar to Parenthood

If you’re looking for something else to watch similar to Parenthood, we’re immediately drawn to Fuller House. Fuller House is slightly more funny than Parenthood, but it also features a large family.

The next title we’d recommend is Gilmore Girls which shares Lauren Graham in the cast.
