Biopics have always been a personal favorite, and one we’re especially excited for later this year is the release of Sergio. We have all the information you will need about Sergio, from the trailer and plot to the release date on Netflix, which is set for April.
Sergio, a Netflix Original biopic about Sergio Vieira de Mello is coming soon. It's based on Sergio Vieira de Mello's life and career. Greg Barker has directed the film, having previously directed a document on Sergio in 2009.
Craig Borten wrote the screenplay, while Brent Travers, Daniel Dreifuss, and Wagner Moura produced it.
Before its Netflix debut, the biopic will make its debut at Sundance Festival in January.
Sergio will be released on April 17, 2020, just a few more months.

Dramatized in chaos after the US invasion, in which the fate of UN Diplomat Sergio Vieira de Mello is in jeopardy during his most dangerous mission.

Sergio Vieira de Mello, a highly-respected Brazilian diplomat who worked for more than 34 years for the United Nations was well-known.
The real-life Sergio Vieira de Mello
Sergio, along with 20 other members of his team were killed by the Canal Hotel Bombings in Iraq. This occurred during the US Invasion. It was intended to attack UN officials, but it led to the evacuation of 600 UN staff.
Sergio received the United Nations Prize for Human Rights after his death. Security protocols were drastically altered after the attack on UN officials in Iraq.
Sergio was loved by many and was a strong advocate for human rights. Although his passing was tragic and heartbreaking, millions continue to be affected by his efforts while alive.
Although no official rating has been announced yet, it is likely that Sergio will receive a rating of PG-13 or 15 each.
Despite the real-life Sergio being Brazillian, the film hasn’t been filmed in his native Portuguese and has instead been filmed in English.
Other Langauge dubs are also available for streaming upon their release.
Netflix released the trailer for Sergio, which will be shown at the Sundance Festival.
