Netflix Loses ‘Knights of Sidonia’ Movie & TV Show Rights to Funimation

Knights of Sidonia's future has been decided, but unfortunately it is not with Netflix. Funimation announced it had acquired the rights for the Knights of Sidonia film Knights of Sidonia - Love Woven in the Stars. It also announced the acquisition of the anime rights. The streaming service will be available soon.

Knights of Sidonia is one of Netflix's first original anime series. It was also the first to be released on Netflix. It has gathered a large fan base and subscribers have been waiting patiently for new content for years.

Speculation on the future of Knights of Sidonia hasn’t always been handled well by Netflix. Over the last few years, we’ve seen the anime removed from the Netflix library, before eventually returning. Fans speculated that Netflix might have caused the cancellation of anime due to the fact there were still manga source materials that could be used to adapt the anime.

It looked as though Knights of Sidonia had left Netflix. In fact, the streaming company was shutting down for the second consecutive year in January 2021.

What time is Knights of Sidonia available on Funimation

Funimation will now stream the Knights of Sidonia first and second seasons on their streaming service starting August 3, 2021. Funimation will stream the anime in America, Canada, UK and Ireland.

What date is Knights of Sidonia: Love Woven in the Stars due to be released?

Love Woven in the Stars is the upcoming Knights of Sidonia film. It will be available in American theatres starting Monday September 13, 2021.

The movie will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles. However, there will be an option to see the film with English subtitles.

It’s unclear when the feature will be available to stream on Funimation.
