We finally received confirmation from Netflix that Cagaster of an Insect Cage will be released by the streaming service in February after months of waiting! Below we have all the information you’ll need to know before you stream Cagaster of an Insect Cage!
Cagaster of an Insect Cage, a Netflix Original anime series is coming soon. It's based on the Manga series Mushikago no Cagaster written by Kachou Hashimoto. It has 32 chapters and ran from September 2005 through May 2016.
Finally, we have confirmed that Cagaster Of An Insect Cage will arrive on Netflix February 6, 2020.
After very few details about the series have been released, it is somewhat surprising that the release date was not announced.
Set in the near future, a mysterious plague known as ‘Cagaster’ has ravished the population of Earth, turning its inhabitants into monstrous insects. Survival is difficult and each day more challenging than ever with only a small remnant of humankind remaining. 30 years after the start of ‘Cagaster’ in 2125, we follow Kidou, a young adventurer that fights the insects for a living. Kidou is sent on an extermination mission to find a man dying and he entrusts Kidou with his little girl, in order to assist her mother.
Gonzo is the production house behind Cagaster of an Insect Cage. The studio produced many popular anime titles over the years, including Hellsing and Rosario + Vampire.
Gonzo produced 7Seeds, a Netflix Original anime series.
Annoyingly, the number of episodes hasn’t been revealed yet.
We’d expect to see around 10 to 13 episodes which is the typical number of episodes for an anime season.
With 32 chapters in total of the manga, it’s hard to say if the first season won’t just cover all of the source material. If the anime contains filler, it could be possible to drag out the main storyline for a second series. There’s no word yet but if Cagaster of an Insect Cage turns out to be popular, we could expect to see a second season in the future.
