Syfy’s answer to Battlestar Galactica is coming to Netflix exclusively in some regions with a new deal that will come into effect this November. We’ve got all the details below.

Netflix’s relationship continues to go from strength-to-strength with lots of deals with Syfy. Syfy’s hit shows such as Z-Nation have been coming to Netflix in a prompt fashion as of late and that continues with a new deal outlined today for The Expanse.

The Expanse, an adaptation of James Corey's novel series, premiered last autumn on Syfy and was a critical success. Up until now, it hasn’t been available on Netflix. The sci-fi show set far into the future follows a United Nations ship who are investigating a conspiracy that’s set to destroy civilization as they know it.

In the new deal, it’s reported that season 1 of The Expanse will be coming to Netflix UK and some other regions (excluding the US) in November 2016. The deal then goes on to say we’ll be getting new episodes from season 2 on a weekly basis.

Season 1 contains 10 episodes and actually debuted first on Syfy’s on-demand platform before being aired weekly on the channel.

Netflix will soon have new season 2 episodes.

New episodes are scheduled for January 2017, and if they air on Mondays like they did with season 1, then it’s safe to say it’ll arrive on Tuesday morning. 13 episodes are planned meaning you’ll be getting weekly drops until April 2017 at the latest.

How about the United States of America?

We can rule out weekly episodes of the series, as the American Syfy channel first airs the series. We believe that Netflix will get the first season because of how the existing deals have worked out.

Exciting news of  yet another TV series coming exclusively to Netflix. Are you familiar with The Expanse yet? How do you feel about it?
