IFC is a long-standing partner of Netflix USA. Many of the IFC's back catalogue are still available on Netflix. It lost its movies contract to Hulu in 2016, and it converted all of its legacy TV shows to legacy contracts.
Portlandia features Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen as sketch hosts. They played many roles over the course of their eight-season run. The show was nominated 4 Primetime Emmys. It began streaming on Netflix in 2011
Each year, new seasons of Portlandia are added to Netflix. The final season (8), arrived in June 2018.
We believe that Comedy Bang! was the first IFC series to leave Netflix. Maron, Garfunkel, Oates, and Documentary Now! are just a few of the IFC series that have left Netflix. will soon leave.
Seasons 6-9 remain on Netflix for now however they’re likely going to removed in due course.
Although most IFC programs have made their way to Hulu, there has not been an official home. Just last year, Hulu renewed its movie deal with IFC last year and therefore, that’s where Portlandia will likely end up.
We mentioned that there are still a few IFC series available on Netflix, which is a great option.
Aside from those, we’d recommend giving I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson a shot as well as W/ Bob and David which perfectly fit in the same genre. Don’t forget Netflix currently carries the majority of the Monty Python back catalog too.
