‘Portlandia’ Set to Leave Netflix (Again) in June 2021

After the September 2019 removal scare, Portlandia will leave Netflix America in its entirety in June 2021.

The comedy sketch show, which is set in Portland, Oregan and features Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, and Jonathan Krisel, has been a fan favourite since it first aired on IFC between 2011-2018.

Two years ago, it was August when we saw the last time a date for the removal of the Portlandia Netflix show. It stated that the show would be ending on September 24, 2017. Before being quickly added again a day later, five seasons had been removed.

A removal date has been displayed for the complete Portlandia collection, which consists of 77 episodes over eight seasons. The last day you can watch them is June 10, 2021.

Since the last time the show was due to be removed, the series has arrived in full on AMC+, the streaming service ran by the parent company of IFC and that’s where we suspect the show will remain exclusively should Netflix actually lose the license to Portlandia this time around.

The IFC series are slowly leaving the United States in recent years, as their contracts expire. This was recently proven by the removal of Comedy Bang! Bang! Bang!

Get Documentary Now! It's still available on Netflix, along with a few other IFC series.

Another high-profile series, Hannibal, will be removed in June 2021. It leaves slightly later than Portlandia. For removal news, keep our June 2021 list bookmarked.
