Rebecca Hall's directorial debut is Passing, a Netflix Original black and white drama movie. Hall adapted Nella Larson's 1929 novel into a screenplay.
AUM Group, Endeavor Content, and Film4 are the producers behind Passing. Forest Whitaker, an Academy Award winner actor is one of the executives producers.
Passing's Netflix debut is set for Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
The feature had already been shown at its premiere in the world when it was presented to the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, January 2021. Although the movie received the Grand Jury Prize nomination, it was lost to CODA (come-of-age comedy-drama).
Passing will be available in limited theatrical release on October 27, 2021 for subscribers who prefer it.

Mixed-race childhood friends reunite in middle-class adulthood and become increasingly involved with one another’s lives and insecurities. While Irene identifies as African-American and is married to a black doctor, Clare “passes” as white and has married a prejudiced, but wealthy white man.

We’re under two months away from the second anniversary of the first day of filming of Passing. Filming began in New York City on November 6, 2019 and ended on December 5, 2019.
IMDb has confirmed that Passing runs for 98 minutes.
For a movie so focused on racial discourse, it’s surprising that its official parental rating is PG-13.
