Season 1 of ‘Back Street Girls’: Release Date, Cast, Plot

It’s safe to say there are some very zany and wacky anime out there. This month's Netflix Original anime will be the strangest yet! Here’s our guide to season one of Back Street Girls.

Back Street Girls, an original Netflix anime, is based on Jasmine Gyuh's manga of the same title. J.C. Staff, who worked previously on titles like Food Wars, Golden Time and UQ Holder, produced the Series.

The plot is it?

After failing their boss too many times, three Yakuza men are faced with two choices: die an honorable death and kill themselves or go to Thailand for gender reassignment surgery and train to become “Idol Girls.” They choose the latter.

They make their debut after undergoing surgery, and having to endure a year of hard training to be Idols. Now having to deal with overwhelming popualrity that comes with being an idol, this is just the beginning for them.

What number of episodes is there?

With 10 episodes, the first season of Season 1 will be available.

The manga ended with 11 volumes so we can assume that the 10 episodes will cover the entirety of the Manga’s run.

Is there a Netflix trailer?

Back Street Girls is only two days away, and Netflix has yet to release a trailer. We have found a trailer for the series in Japan, which has already been broadcast.

What is the date of release?

Back Street Girls streaming on Netflix will begin December 12th!

Is Back Street Girls going to have another season?

It is still too soon to know. The anime could cover all of the source material. It depends on if the creator is willing to write additional stories for the show. Or, the producer studio may take over the script for the next season.
