‘Seis Manos’ Season 2: Netflix Renewal Status and Release Date

With the Mexican anime series Seis Mannos, Powerhouse Animation truly excelled. Fans are asking when a second season of Seis Manos can be seen on Netflix after a great first season. Unfortunately, we’re still waiting on news of renewal, but there’s evidence to suggest that could change very soon.

Seis Manos is a Netflix Original anime series created by Brad Graeber and Álvaro Rodríguez. This series was the first Original American-Mexican animated series. It was produced by Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania). While many question its status as an anime series because of its North American production, regardless it’s still a fantastic looking series with an equally great story.

Three orphaned Martial Arts warriors are joined by a DEA agent in San Simon, Mexico. They seek revenge for the loss of their mentor.

It’s been over a month since the release of Seis Manos, and Netflix is still yet to announce the future of the series. Netflix has a reputation for being silent when renewing their original titles. While some Originals are able to be renewed in a matter of weeks or months, others can take several months. Brad Graeber (showrunner) has spoken out about the possibility of the series' future. In an interview, Graeber disclosed that a script was in the works for the second season.

The fact that a script exists, shows there’s hope for the future of the series.

Powerhouse Animation has been hard at work creating upcoming Original animation such as Gods & Heroes or Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

Seis Manos received an incredible amount of praise from acclaimed The Book of Life of director Jorge Gutierrez, hailing the series as “The Citizen Kane of Mexican anime”.

Rotten Tomatoes has given the series a 100% rating, and an audience score 91%. Seis Manos has a rating of 7.5/10 on IMDb.

Netflix release date for Seis Manos season 2

Assuming that Seis Manos will be renewed, we aren’t expecting to see the second season for a long time. If it follows the same release schedule as Castlevania, the second season won’t be available until 2021. Between the first and second Castlevania seasons, there were 15 months.

Seis Manos is a popular anime series. However, they are used to waiting for long periods of time.
