‘Sweet Tooth’ and ‘Blood of Zeus’ Reportedly Eying Early Renewals at Netflix

Sweet Tooth, one of Netflix’s most popular fantasy originals, has reportedly already been given the green light for a third season. We also learned that a third season of Blood of Zeus, the animated series with cult status, is currently being developed. This news comes from the same source who told us about Ozark, Fate: The Winx Saga, and Warrior Nun’s renewals.

A season three renewal of Sweet Tooth should not surprise anyone, as it is one of Netflix’s most popular series. Sweet Tooth was viewed by 60 million homes since June 4, 2021, it was announced in July 2021. Jim Mickle developed the show and it stars Nonso anozie, Christian Convery and Adel Akhtar. Stefania LeVie Owen and Dania Ramirez are also featured.

One season has been released by the popular fantasy drama. Season 2 filming will take place in New Zealand between January 2022 and May 2022. Netflix already has decided to continue the series for season 3. This allows writers to create storylines that can span several seasons.

Blood of Zeus, formerly known as Gods & Heroes, is an adult animated fantasy-action series created and written by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides. Netflix's original series follows Heron (the demigod child of Zeus), as he tries to save Olympus. The show claims in its prologue to be one of the tales “lost to history” rather than passed down with our current canon of Greek myths. This show includes mythical mounts and automata from the original stories, as well as gods, giants, robots, and automata.

It is also not surprising that Blood of Zeus has been renewed for the third season. This comes after it received its second season renewal just over a month ago. They also indicated that the creators had five seasons planned. It’s worth noting that Netflix often gives animated titles larger upfront orders given the extensive workload that goes into animation projects.

Additionally, we have also heard that Netflix is potentially eyeing a season 2 renewal of their upcoming The Sandman series. Although this has not been confirmed, it is possible. It is evident that Netflix and its crew have high hopes for the show, as evidenced by the casting announcements we received last year and behind-the scenes footage.

As always, a pinch of salt until Netflix officially announces renewals for all these shows and just because they’re being actively developed doesn’t mean that poor performance or other factors couldn’t mean the plug could be pulled as it did with Dash & Lily.
