The first Netflix US licensed title has been announced with The Bureau of Magical Things, an Australian fantasy series. It will be released on July 1. Here’s what you need to know.
The Bureau of Magical Things aired its first episode on Eleven in July 2018. It was later moved to TeenNick half way through. The show will now be available on Netflix.
Netflix US will be the only one to get the series, but other countries could follow suit.
The first season consists 20 episodes. It tells the story about a young girl who is thrust into the magical realm after discovering her powers. In this new magical world, a threat emerges and it’s down to her to unite the fairies, elves, and humans together.
Kimie Tsukakoshi and Elizabeth Cullen and Julian Cullen as well as Mia Milnes and Rainbow Wedell and Jamie Carter are the stars.
It currently has a rating of 6.7/10 on IMDb. The production company that produced the show is also responsible for Mako Mermaids and other Netflix Original Kids series.

The good news is that a second season is on the way too and while the distribution initially is expected to be with Nickelodeon again, that’s not to say that Netflix doesn’t get the show added further down the line.
As Netflix expands its family and children's programming, it joins the streaming service. The streamer has acquired key Nickelodeon licenses over the last year as well as its own Originals slate.
We’ll keep you posted as and when we learn more of when season 2 of The Bureau of Magical Things will be on Netflix but in the meantime, let us know if you’re excited for the new show in the comments down below.
