One of A24’s biggest hits of the last few years, The Disaster Artist will be making its way onto Netflix on June 1st, 2020.
The movie was directed by James Franco and stars James Franco. It went on to be nominated in the Oscar race. In case you’re not familiar with the subject matter for the movie, let’s fill you in.
This documentary follows Tommy Wiseau's production and eventual release of The Room. It’s dubbed as one of the worst movies in history and this biopic takes us behind the scenes.
Franco is accompanied by his brother Dave Franco.
It was released to cinemas in December 2017, and received rave reviews. The Verge called it a “rare example of a genuinely funny biopic” whereas The Hollywood Reporter referred to it as “delivering a winning, Ed Wood-esque blend of comedy”.
On June 1, 2020, The Disaster Artist will become available via Netflix USA (other regions may differ).
A24's latest movie, Lady Bird from 2017, will also be available on Netflix in June 2020. Netflix will receive Lady Bird, a 2017 film directed by Greta Gerwig on June 3. You can find a full list of what’s coming to Netflix in June 2020 ongoing here.
