Fans are still watching the trilogy almost 20 years after the release of The Fellowship of the Ring. They have made billions of dollars through their cinematic and DVD releases.
All three films from The Lord of the Rings are set to be removed by Netflix Canada in November 2020, it has been confirmed.
Since November 2018, The Fellowship of the Ring has been streamed online. In November 2019, one year after the Return of the King, the stream was made available.

Licenses are the simple answer. Netflix Canada has ended the licensing agreement that allowed them to stream the three films.
