The Way of the House Husband is an upcoming Netflix Original comedy anime series and adaptation of the Japanese manga series Gokushufudō by author Kousuke Oono. J.C. Staff, who previously animated Netflix Originals like The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. 2 and Back Street Girls.

Thanks to the release of the trailer we’ve finally learned that The Way of the House Husband will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, April 8th, 2021.

Tatsu, a notorious member of Yazuka's criminal underworld, was once an iconic figure. He defeated rival gangs single-handedly with only a lead pipe. The “Immortal Tatsu” strikes fear into the hearts and minds of police officers and criminals alike. Tatsu returns soon after his disappearance, and now he is trying to earn a decent living by being a husband and wife to Miku. Tatsu must deal with the kitchen disasters and the dreaded supermarket sales when he becomes a househusband.

Only Tatsu is currently a cast member on The Way of the House Husband. Kenjirô Tsuda has been confirmed to star as the former legendary Yakuza.

Kenjirô Tsuda has voiced many anime characters over the year, in particular, the most well-known of the bunch is arguably Seto Kaiba from the Yu-Gi-Oh!. You can also hear his voice acting in popular anime like Free!, Jujutsu Kaisen and One Punch Man.

The manga currently has 67 chapters published, which covers a total 6 volumes. It’s highly likely that the first season of the anime will cover the vast majority of the currently published source material. The manga shows that the initial season will likely end around the 42nd Chapter.
