‘Top Gear’ Season 26 Coming to Netflix UK in July 2019

Season 26 of Top Gear will be ending on BBC One, just as it is wrapping up with season 27, and Netflix UK has set July 24, 2019, for its release.

Top Gear is no longer available on Netflix in many countries. However, it continues to be available regularly in the UK where the series was first broadcast. The 26th season of Top Gear aired from February 2019 to March 2019.

This season is notable in the fact it’s Matt LeBlanc’s final season on the show. He was fired from the show due to personal reasons. Rory Reid was also replaced.

Season 26 continues the trend for car reviews, interviews, and large segments on motoring shows.  This season, the team will travel to Norway as well as Spain or Wales.

This season's notable interviews include James Marsden and Professor Green as well as Gregory Porter, Matt Baker and Stephen Mangan.

Netflix UK retains the majority of Top Gear's back catalogue, including all series 14 seasons. You can also access season 9, 10, and 12 on Netflix UK. It also has access to seasons 7, 9, 10 and 12.

Extra Gear, season 4, will be available on Netflix UK starting July 24, 2019. The BBC's bonus program gives an inside look into the production of the show. Rory Reid and Chris Harris took part in season 4.

Netflix France, Germany and Portugal will also get season 26.

Top Gear to Return to America?

Top Gear was among the first to leave Netflix USA in 2018, after losing numerous BBC programs throughout 2018 and 2019. It’s unlikely to return at this point but as you know, Netflix has been expanding its selection of motoring shows recently.

MotorTrend now has the show in America, with all previous and future seasons being broadcast there. Sadly, this means you’ll need an additional application and subscription but if you need your Top Gear fix, that’s how you’ll have to do it.
