Heading back for its fourteenth season this fall, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is back for its record 14th season. Only Netflix in the United Kingdom currently carries It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia with the US having it removed several years ago. Here’s the release schedule for season 14 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
This fall, the comedy series with Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney will return to FXX on September 25, 2019. FXX continues to be the home for this series. The series has retained its September slot, with the seasons 10-12 actually being aired on January.
As a reminder, Netflix UK is the only region currently streaming It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Although it doesn’t look like its position on Netflix UK looks under threat just yet, it’s always a possibility given FX’s parent company Disney’s removal of most of its content across the board from Netflix.
Let’s quickly look a when previous seasons of It’s Always Sunny have arrived on Netflix in the UK:
We received confirmation in November 2019 that the UK would have season 14 on Netflix on January 19, 2019.
Season 14 won’t be coming to Netflix if you’re a resident in the United States. Despite having some of FX’s catalog still available on the service, most of it left throughout 2017 and 2018. It’s Always Sunny left Netflix US in December 2017.
As with the majority of FX’s and Fox’s library, it’s now transitioned to its new home over at Hulu where the whole library remains available. Although we don’t rule out the series ever returning, it’s highly unlikely given the ownership situation.
Are you looking forward to seeing It’s Always Sunny return to Netflix or are you in on the regions where you’ll have to find alternative streaming plans? We'd love to hear from you in the comments.
