A fraction of One Piece has been made available on Netflix for the first time. Fans have wondered when they can expect more One Piece episodes on Netflix after the two previous sagas. Let’s find out.
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the One Piece anime is finally making its debut on Netflix. As the streaming service is currently developing a live-action series of the famous franchise, the anime acts as an introductory to new fans and welcomes long term fans to revisit the beginning of Luffy’s adventure.
One Piece is an incredible franchise. This manga is by far the most popular of all-time, with a staggering 23-year-old count.
One Piece can be streamed on all four US platforms. FUNimation and Hulu are available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Crunchyroll, Hulu and Crunchyroll.
Whether or not more seasons of One Piece will be coming to Netflix is an extremely hard question to answer, but we’ll try our best to explain why.
According to Netflix, the first four seasons account for 130 episodes. This is a small number compared to the total episodes the series has.
Netflix has almost 800 more episodes than One Piece, with 929 of its episodes broadcasted in Japan as of the writing of this article.

FUNimation is the Japanese company that dubs One Piece in English. There are 587 episodes dubbed at the time.
Netflix uses the FUNimation English dub. This means that Netflix will have to rely heavily on FUNimation whether there are more One Piece seasons.
We could soon see new seasons due to FUNimation releasing more English dub.
We predict that One Piece will be available on Netflix for more episodes in 2021.
Netflix has only a fraction of One Piece's anime content. Which arguably works in the streaming service’s favor.
Netflix has only two available sagas to stream at the moment: East Blue, and Alabasta. Sky Island is next, followed by Water 7. If both sagas come to Netflix, it’ll take the total number of episodes on Netflix from 130 to 312.
It’s highly unlikely that Netflix will obtain the Thriller Bark and Summit War sagas in the near future. The Summit War saga, which takes up 516 episodes of English-dubbed episode production by FUNimation, is the reason.

Netflix is making every effort to get One Piece anime to multiple locations, due to the imminent live-action series.
