American Horror Story's season 9 is now available on Netflix US. Now, our attention turns to season 10, which will air on FX later than usual. Here’s what we know so far about season 10 including when we’re expecting season 10 of American Horror Story to release on Netflix.
Good news! The anthology series is returning for its 10th season. This was confirmed back in August 2018, and it's back. It’s one of FX’s most-watched shows and season 10 will see many faces return and debut on the series. Macauley Curkin is the most prominent casting for the next season.
Due to delays in COVID-19, production only began in October 2020. This is the time when new seasons usually begin airing. Although a new date is yet to be confirmed, it's likely that production will begin in the early or mid 2021.
We need to mention AHS's rocky past on Netflix before we discuss when AHS will arrive on Netflix.
When we say rocky, it’s more that we don’t know what status the show has on Netflix anymore. The show has been rumored to have left, or was suspected of leaving. One episode in 2020 saw the departure for only a short time. We still believe that the majority of Ryan Murphy’s (the creator of the show) output will continue coming to Netflix but this could change.
Netflix US is always able to get new seasons every fall, but due to the delay in production it may be added later. Season 9 was the latest addition to Netflix, and it arrived in November 2020. The previous seasons were always released in September or October.
At the moment, we think it may still be getting season 10 in its usual fall spot but right now, we can’t be 100% sure. If you can’t wait for its Netflix release Hulu gets new episodes weekly as part of the FX on Hulu arrangement.
Season 9 is still not available in many international regions, which receive new seasons much earlier than the US.
At the moment, we can’t predict when season 10 will be added because of the reasons we outlined above. However, it won’t likely be until late 2021 or early 2022.
While we’re on the subject of American Horror Story, you may be wondering whether the new spin-off series is coming to Netflix. At this point, in the US at least we can definitely rule it out as it’s being produced exclusively for Hulu.
Outside the US where Hulu doesn’t operate it could happen but the likelihood is that it’s being reserved for Disney+ Star or whatever the new service from Disney is to be named abroad.
Good news: Ryan Murphy's titles will soon be available on Netflix, as part of his extensive output agreement. You can also check out some of our other streaming options.
