“Fall in and you’re out!” Hit competition show Floor is Lava will return for season 2 at Netflix. After a long recruitment process, the second season of Floor is Lava spent one month in the Netflix Top 10 US and UK. It will now begin filming.
Floor is Lava was hugely popular during last summer's COVID-19 pandemic. The series was viewed by more than 37 million households worldwide, according to Netflix.
A twist on the children’s game, Floor is Lava features various obstacles that teams of three must navigate. Although some people dismissed the game as too simple and hokey, it was enjoyed by many families. The lava lamp trophy and $10,000 are awarded to the winning teams.
This show was a huge hit on Netflix, alongside Love is Blind. It was so popular that Netflix teamed up with Jaaved Jaafferi, a Hindi comedian actor, to create a dubbed version called Lava Ka Dhaava. This release came out worldwide on May 5, 2021.
Floor is Lava was created in collaboration by Netflix, Haymaker Media and A. Smith Productions.

On June 14th, 2021, a casting call was closed. It was noted that Floor is Lava would once more film in Burbank. The show’s elaborate “mansion” set — presumably to be enhanced for season two — has been staged in a former IKEA furniture store that’s been gutted.
Netflix announced that season 2 of its series will be available to subscribers in 2022, with production scheduled for the late summer of 2021.
You can expect more of the same. Count on a diversity of unexpected teams — whether co-workers, family members, or other pairings — with problem-solving, wipeouts, and dramatic reactions as teammates sink beneath the lava. CGI and practical effects are combined to create the illusion of lava. Contestants will be thrown into an exclusive mixture of water and cornstarch.
