When will Season 5 of ‘The Magicians’ be on Netflix?

Syfy’s The Magicians returned for its fifth and final season between January and April 2020 and is now confirmed to hit Netflix US in January 2021.

For those uninitiated with The Magicians, it’s one of the best sci-fi series on TV that doesn’t get anywhere near the attention it deserves. It’s about a grad student who enters a specialist college that trains in magic.

The fifth season premiered on Syfy January 15th. It lasted 13 weeks. The show was praised for its great ending.

Let's first look at the date that season 5 of The Magicians will be available on Netflix. Let’s take a look at how The Magicians has released on Netflix so far.

• Netflix released Season 2 on 12/12/2017
• Netflix released Season 3 on December 24, 2018.
• Netflix released Season 4 on December 16, 2019.

Given the above, we were expecting season five to hit Netflix in December 2020 but that didn’t happen. Netflix instead confirmed that the series would be available on Netflix starting January 2021, specifically January 15.

Netflix: Will The Magicians leave?

You might have heard that NBC Universal, the parent company to Syfy, is creating its own streaming service. Many of Syfy’s back catalog is headed to the service.

The Magicians may eventually move to Peacock but for now it will be available on Netflix. That’s because it sits in a legacy contract. Here are all of the Netflix titles due to be removed by Peacock.

Is The Magicians Season 5 coming to Netflix in Other Regions?

Sadly, it doesn’t look like The Magicians will be coming to Netflix in any other regions in the near future.

Although Syfy's series is available on Netflix in several regions, it is not the only one that hasn't made the cut. That means you’ll have to find alternative streaming arrangements to watch.
