Disney’s big Christmas movie of 2018 is coming to Netflix in the United States and Canada in May 2019. Here’s a look at when we’re expecting Netflix to get The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms features some big talents coming together for a modern take on the Nutcracker story. It stars young Mackenzie Foy (known from Twilight), Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice), Morgan Freeman, Matthew Macfadyen, Ellie Bamber, Helen Mirren, and Jack Whitehall.
Although the United States received their theatrical release November 2, moviegoers may be skipping it due to poor reviews.
If you’re waiting for the movie to be released on Netflix, you won’t be watching for Christmas 2018. Instead, you’ll likely be waiting towards the middle of 2019.
That date has now been confirmed to be available on May 28th, 2019.
This movie is likely to be available for those living in the United States. All movies that were released in 2016 to 2019 are covered by the Disney contract.
Based on our projections, we’re expecting it to release between June and August 2019 and then remain on the service for a year and a half.
Canadians should also be prepared for the film to be released at the same time.
Brits are more likely to see Disney films, however it is not until many years later. Sky has the first wave of streaming rights. NowTV will therefore be your best choice.
As we’ll cover later in the year, this will seemingly be the only Nutcracker movie to be added or available on Netflix.
Netflix does have plenty of Christmas content on the way for you in 2018 as we’ve covered in-depth.
This is it. Are you going to be watching the Nutcracker in the theatres or will it drop on Netflix instead? Comment below.
